kumboPrivacy Policy

In short: kumbo has no accounts, no bank connections and no servers of its own. What you own and what you paid for it stay on your iPhone. The app only asks a public price service for today's gold, silver and currency rates — your holdings are never sent anywhere. There's no advertising or tracking.
Who we are
kumbo is an iOS app made by Doğukan Yıldız ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@kumbo.app.
Data you enter
To value your holdings, kumbo stores what you enter: the gold, silver and currencies you hold, their quantities, the price you paid and the purchase date. All of this is kept in the app's private storage on your device. We have no access to it.
Price data
To show today's value, kumbo requests exchange and metal rates from Frankfurter, a free, open rate service. These requests contain only codes and dates — for example "gold in US dollars since 1 August" — and never anything about what you own or what you paid. As with any web request, the service can see your device's IP address; its own policies apply to that. The latest prices are saved on your device so kumbo keeps working offline.
Region
kumbo reads your iPhone's region setting to choose your currency and the local units shown (for example quarter coins in Türkiye or tola in India). This happens on your device and isn't sent to us.
iCloud
If you use iCloud Backup, your kumbo data is included in your device backup under your own Apple Account. If iCloud sync is added in a future version, your data will be stored in your private iCloud database, which only you can access. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud.
Purchases
If kumbo offers paid features, purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app only learns from Apple whether you have an active purchase.
Analytics and tracking
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as crash reports.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any list without asking.
Deleting your data
Deleting kumbo from your iPhone deletes its data from the device. Because we don't hold your data, there's nothing for us to delete on our side. Remember that older device or iCloud backups may still contain it until they're replaced.
Children
kumbo is a personal finance tool and isn't directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll also mention it in the app.
Users in Türkiye (KVKK)
This section is our notice under Article 10 of Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK").
- Data controller: Doğukan Yıldız, reachable at hello@kumbo.app.
- Data in the app stays on your device (and in your own iCloud, if you use it). It isn't sent to, seen or processed by us, and isn't transferred to anyone.
- Support email: if you write to us, we process your name (if given), email address and message only to answer your request, based on our legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5/2-f), and keep it for up to 2 years after your request is closed.
- Transfer abroad: our email is hosted by Apple (iCloud Mail), whose servers may be outside Türkiye. This transfer is made only to provide the email service, in line with KVKK Art. 9.
- Your rights under KVKK Art. 11 include learning whether your data is processed, asking for information, correction or deletion, learning who it's shared with, objecting to automated decisions against you, and claiming compensation for unlawful processing.
